[net.rec.birds] Bird Watcher's Digest

schultz@inuxg.UUCP (Paula Schultz) (01/08/85)

I subscribe to Birdwatcher's Digest and I feel it is really worthwhile.
I even gave three subscriptions as Christmas presents!!
The Digest gives listings of rare sightings around the U.S.
and has letters from birders that make me feel glad that I
am not the only one with such questions.

I belong to the Amos Butler Chapter of Audubon in Indianapolis, IN.
I go on most of the one-day trips around the state and I plan on
going on some week-long trips this spring and summer.
If you want more info on these trips, let me know.

This newsgroup has been quiet for a long time. Last winter, I
was responsible for starting the group up again after a long
quiet period, but then it died down again. Interest must be
higher in the winter/spring.

Let's keep it going!!!!

Just a note to introduce readers of this list to this excellent magazine
(which I just started receiving). It's the best thing ever to come out of
my hometown of Marietta, Ohio (save Yours Truly, of course).

Issues are bi-monthly and about 100 pages with color photos, In depth articles
on various classes or species of birds, question/answer columns, etc. appear
in each issue. The Nov/Dec issue even has a column on how different people
battle squirrels at their feeders, a common topic in this newsgroup.

Subscriptions are a mere $11.00 per year. BWD, Box 110, Marietta, OH 45750.
