Hello. I'm the administrator of a big Internet mailing list on the topic of the Coherent operating system. The list is just an entry in a Unix aliases file, which means that mail sent to the list address (coherent@cs.wisc.edu) is echoed to the subscribers-- there are currently about 170 addresses in the list. As a separate service I also generate a digest form of the traffic on the list, which goes to about 30 addresses, and which I have been in the habit of posting to comp.os.misc. This appears roughly twice a week. With the advent of comp.os.coherent, I will no longer be posting the digest to comp.os.misc. Rather I propose- 1. To post the digest of mailing list traffic here. 2. To provide a digest of the newsgroup traffic as a separate service. The goal is to keep those folks without net access connected with any discussion of Coherent. I'm posting this primarily to give readers of this forum a chance to object to my plans to post the digest and secondarily to inform readers of the availibility of all three services. I can best be contacted as "coherent-request@cs.wisc.edu". -- Scott Rose rose@cs.wisc.edu (608) 238-3801
