Hi,
some people once told me that they wanted comp.os.coherent because they
had no possibilties to ftp from piggy and need/want sources for Coherent.
SO I once decided to post TASS 3.0, a news reader, because I heard that
cnews is available : a) by FTP from piggy b) by modem from MWCBBS.
I choosed the smallest source I had and compressed it.
- The way I post the sources was wrong. I'll never tar,compress,
split files that way, don't send me more flames, I still need a
fire department just for the incoming. Only Shar-Files uncompressed
should be posted.
- Scott (Rose) told me that comp.os.coherent is a discussion group
and sources should be posted to comp.sources.misc. Also many
people had to pay for send/receive mail and he wanted to forward
comp.os.coherent to the mailing list.
So what to do ? I thought it was correct because in comp.os.minix are
always sources. I don't want to post to comp.sources.misc as I will get
there a lot of flames.
I now decided to never (I think so) post sources to comp.os.coherent.
But I just want to assure that all people who received TASS and couldn't
unpack it (Rich Nickle told me that, I unpacked it here after the second
hop).
So Scott, please just that.
