Dear Network, Has anyone cloned the tt3 gene of Arabidopsis (or its equivalent in another organism)? Would you be willing to make the clone available to assist the initiation of a chromososme walk in the rregion, please? I would be most grateful for any possible assistance. Chris Cobbett.

Dear Dr. Cobbett: We have recently cloned the Arabidopsis gene that corresponds to the tt3 allele. However, this work is not yet published and we have not yet started distributing the clones. We would be willing to send out a clone with the agreement that it would be used solely for walking. In addition, we are also interested in another locus in the vicinity of tt3. Perhaps you could send us particulars on the experiments you are planning. It would be useful to collaborate in assembling a high resolution map of this region. Please let me know what you think about this, Brenda Shirley (postdoc in Howard Goodman's lab) P.S. I will be away from the lab from Friday until next Wednesday, in case you don't hear back from me right away.
