I have lots of audio files that were digitized with the ADPCM4E algorithm. Is there any method of compressing these files any further? The data appears to be quite random so that running Huffman encoding or LZW algorithms on the files generates even larger files (not surprizing since there is almost no reduncancy). Lossy would be ok as long as not too much degradation of audio quality occurs. The audio was 8 bit samples at 18,900 hz with a cutoff frequency of about 7.5 khz and a Nyquist frequency of about 8 khz. -- ________________________________________________________________________________ R.
