[comp.compression] New ship.c

madler@nntp-server.caltech.edu (Mark Adler) (05/08/91)

For those of you I sent a copy of ship.c to, I have a new, cleaned
up version that is an actual release. Send me a request and I'll
mail it to you.

For that matter, I'll send it to anyone who would like it. It is
a replacement for uuencode/decode that uses more efficient coding,
will automatically split and recombine for mailing, will automatically
mail the parts, will send multiple files, and has a 32-bit CRC check
for each file to make sure it got across ok. Also, it only uses
characters that are expected to be safely translated to and from
EBCDIC, though I don't know anyone who has tried to get it working
on an IBM system.
