We are looking for software, preferably in the public domain [but we'd be interested in hearing about commercially available software also] (preferably in either FORTRAN or C) for surface gravity field modeling--direct and inverse? By "direct," we mean software that lets you specify the size, shape, location, density contrast, etc. of the masses -- and then computes the resulting gravity anomaly, deflection, and/or gravity gradient field. By "inverse," we mean that the input would be the observed/measured gravity anomalies or other data; the software computes "a plausible" or "the simplest" underlying mass distribution that could generate the observed data. Please reply by email to leschack@world.std.com Thanks for any information/leads/contacts you may be able to suggest. Dick
