From: plains!hiv.med.umn.edu!kamp@uunet.UU.NET (Lisa Kamp) before i get into turkeys, please folks, we waited a long time for a hunting group that would discuss hunting so can we avoid long arguments about items and issues that we already agreed would not be discussed in this group? anyway... my husband and i were picked for both the minnesota and michigan spring hunts (and are we happy!!) in minnesota we hunt the area south of the twin cities along the mississippi (lots of rolling terrain and ridges) but in michigan we spend a lot of time hunting farmers' land (these turkeys love to eat in the fields that are being plowed). my question, are there different tactics on hunting farm loving turkeys who like to disappear into little woodlots when they get nervous? we took some fall turkerys in michigan (upper peninsula) but during our spring hunt never got close enough to get a shot (but had a lot of fun watching). any turkey hunting thoughts, ideas are always welcome especially on hunting these michigan birds.
