[Moderator's Note: This is only tangentially related to hunting.
However, I feel that the addition of hunting clubs to the list will be
a valuable contribution to the fight against the madness. tjr]

As secretary for my gun club I get some stuff from the NRA that most people
don't see. The NRA plans to put the advertisement below in newspapers
starting the week of Monday 4/29. In order to show widespread opposition
to the Brady bill they need the name of gun clubs on the advertisement.

You can add club names to the ad by calling 18008472299; this line is
open 24 hours a day.

Ad follows:

"the desirability of the pointofsale system is that it involves
instant background checks that are just as reliable as thos
performed during a sevenday waiting period. ... The feasibility
of this program makes it a preferred option. ... The pointofsale
	system is preferable."

				Testimony Before Congressional Subcommittee
				March 21, 1991

That's why the groups listed below support a better alternative: the
Staggers Instant Check Bill, HR1412.

The Staggers Instant Check Bill requires a criminal record check on every
handgun purchaser, and provides for computerization of criminal records so
checks will be fast, fair, accurate and free of abuse. Similar to a credit
card check, such a system is already in place and proven effective in
Virginia with more states coming on line. The instant check is affordable,
does not burden police and is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice.

End advertisment.

The choice is yours, all the hassels with the Brady bill that have been
pointed out here countless times, or an immediate verification.
