[rec.hunting] Swiss Army Knife Repair

soeryant@frith.egr.msu.edu (05/07/91)

I have a Swiss Army knife (I don't really know the name but it's the
one with 11 extending pieces) for about 10 years now. The spring (or
coil) on the scissors broke a couple of weeks ago. I can't find
anywhere a replacement spring.

Is there a repair shop or someone that sells parts for these knives.
What I really would like to do is to replace the spring mechanism with
the newer one.

Thanks.

I have seen swiss army knife parts at REI (Recreational Equipment Inc.).
REI is big on the west coast, I don't know if it is back in Michigan.

I believe all Swiss Army knives have a "limited lifetime guarantee."
All you have to do is send the knife via registered mail to someplace
in CT. I don't have the address - I saw it printed on the back of the
box one came in once. Len.
