Noted film director G. Aravindan passed away on the 16th of March at his residence in Thiruvanathapuram at the age of 55 following a heart attack. The body was laid to rest yesterday (17th March) in the presence of a large number of mourners. G. Aravindan shot into limelight by winning the national award for the movie Utharayanam. From then on, he directed a lot of movies which became national and international award winners. His latest venture "Vastuhara" won the best film award in the Kerala state awards in 1990. The sad demise of Aravindan after only two months of the demise of author/director K.Padmarajan has a left a void in the Malayalam film industry.
