Bangladesh:   Begum Zia will be sworn in as PM of Bangladesh today. Her 31
member council of ministers (consisting of 10 Ministers) will also be sworn in
today. BNP has won 139 seats in the 300 member Parliament and Jamaat with a
strength of 18 has promised unconditional support for the Zia ministry. Awami
league leader has said that the neutrality of the President will be jeopardized
if the Council of Ministers is appointed. The President's office said that
under the present Constitution, the ministry is only to advise the President
but not to govern.

               The trial of Gen. Ershad was adjourned to 27 th March yesterday.

India:         There was an accident in Madhya Pradeh involving a bus and a
train at a level crossing. 35 people were killed and 27 were injured. The
accident occurred on a line to Katni and at about 220 kilometres from Bilaspur.
The radio said the it appears that the fault lies with the driver of the bus.

                Air India is to resume its service to Daharan from 22 nd March.
It will increase the number of flights to Riyadh starting today in view of the
increased passanger load.

                Ethiopia has invited India to participate in and help in small
and medium scale industries in that country.

                Nine defence corporations will take part in Defence Asia
Exhibition being held in Singapore this week. Public corporations like
Hindustan Aeronautics will be among the participants. Exhibitors from US, UK,
Germany and other countries are taking part.
