The PM Mr.CS has asked the people to work for a society free from
exploitation. He was addressing a public meeting in New Delhi today
to mark the birth centenary celebrations of the late Dr.Babasaheb 
Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution. The PM
said, the real tribute to Dr.Ambedkar will be to create a society
where all live with honor and dignity for that we have to change the
attitude of the people towards the downtrodden. The PM announced 
a settingup of a multi crore Ambedkar res institute in the capital 
on this eve. In the morning,. the VP Dr.Shankar Dayal Sharma, Mr.CS
and several other leaders garlanded the memorial of Dr.Ambedkar
at the parliament house lawns. Leaders of NF, left parties and it's
allies organized a rally at boat club in New Delhi to mark the
occasion. The PM Mr.CS has that that holding of elections in
Punjab and Assam is a dangerous step but it is required to keep
the democratic institution alive. 

Mr.N.K.Singh, the high profile joint director, CBI   has been transferred
to the Border Security Force in the same rank. Singh investigated
sensitive cases  such as the phone tapping affair, St.Kittis,
Air bus A-320 and an alleged forged letter involving the deputy
premier Mr.Devilal.

Renowned spiritual leader Dalai lama has been chosed for Dr.Ambedkar
internation award. This was announced by the bharatiya Dalit sahitya
academy in New Delhi today.

Noted  Indian bird photographer S.Sridharan has been awarded the 
prestigious associateship of the royal photographic society of
Britain. The 37 year old photographer will be honored next month
in Oxford.

In the recent filmfare awards, Vijaya Shanthi has been adjudged
the best actress for her role in "Kartavyam" (Telugu) and
the noted Telugu actor Akkineni Nageshwar was honored too 
for his contributions in the Telugu cine field. ( local news )

The symbol disputes of various parties attending before the election
commission are to decided soon. This was disclosed by the dep 
election commissioner Dr.R.P.Bhalla yesterday in New Delhi. He told
newsmen that the committee will meet chief secretaries, inspector
generals of police and cheif electoral officers of the NE states
and Punjab in New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting will discuss the poll
preparedness and idientification of certain constituencies in the
region where the state and central observers are to be deputed to
insure a fair poll. Dr.Bhalla said that the commission has received
a complaint from the BJP against the alleged use of religious symbol(s)
by the Cong(I) in it's election posters.

The finance minister Mr.Yashwant Sinha has categorically stated 
that India is not falling in to any debt trap. Talking to newsmen on
his return from Tokyo said that Japan is to give an assistance worth of
500 million dollars to help India get over it's short term problems
of foreign exchange crunch. He said an assistance worth of $150 millions
will be available immediately to meet the urgent import requirements
of petroleum products.

Commenting on India's economy, the asian development bank in it's
annual report said that the growth rate declined  despite good
monsoon and record agricultural production. The growth rate 
declined by 4.3 percent becuase of the outbreak of Gulf war.

The NF has released its election manifesto yesterday promising
job reservations for socially backward classes, general autonomy
for states and effective steps to check the price rise. It
reaffirmed its committment to reserve 27 percent jobs for the
socially backward classes.

Moscow is sending a high level delegation to Pakistan in a bid to
solve the Afghan problem. Disclosing this in Islamabad, a senior
foreign office spokesman said the talks are expected to be held
next month. Meanwhile, the Afghan president, Dr.Najibullah urged
the US to exert pressure on Pak not to interfere in his country's
internal affiars.

Pakistan has asked all Japansese journalists and TV crew men to leave
the Sindh province following the kidnapping of three Japanese students
who were kidnapped by the dacoits while they were on ???? river expedition.
