The general election scheduled for Thursday and Sunday has been postponed until
June. Rajiv Gandhi's body has been taken to a Madras Hospital and the
immediate family ( Sonia, Rahul, & Priyanka ) are flying to Madras. The Cabinet
is to meet in an emergency session this morning. Rioting has been reported in
five states including Delhi and Madras. In Madras the police have been given
shoot-at-site orders and in Delhi the office of the Janta Dal has been
severly damaged. Tamil Tigers of the LTTE are suspected to have planted and
detonated the bomb, this coming from an expert after assessing the bomb site.
A 10-ft crater was left following the explosion. The Chairman or leader of
LTTE based in London has denied the allegations.
