Madras ====== The AIADMK general secretary miss jayaLalitha was leading both at kangeyam and bargur constituencies. Cong-i AIADMK leading in majority constituencies Notable among those who were trailing in the assembly sector at 1630 hrs included the former chief minister and DMK president, Mr M karunanidhi, at the Madras harbour constituency, his son and the youth wing secretary of the party, Mr M K stalin, at thousand lights, and former ministers Mr Veerasamy and Mr Pon Muthuramalingam at Purasawakkam and at Madurai west respectively. The Congress(I)-AIADMK alliance is all set to register an impressive performance in both the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, according to the latest poll trends. The Congress(I)-AIADMK alliance was leading in all the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies as also in nearly 210 out of 232 assembly seats 1630 hrs rpt 1630 hrs to which elections were held saturday. The DMK-led front was leading in about five assembly constituencies. The pmk in three and the BJP in one. In the Lok Sabha sector, all the four former Congress(I) union ministers -- Mr. P. ChidambaRao, Mr M.Arunachalam, Mr.R. Prabhu and Mrs Maragatham Chandrasekar -- were leading in their respective constituencies. Bhubaneshwar ============ The former CM, Mr J B Patnaik, continued to trail behind the former union minister, Mr srikanta jena (JD), in the prestigeous cuttack Lok Sabha seat, although the Congress-i has established leads in eight out of 14 seats, trends of which were available at 1730 hours today. Mr jena has since increased his lead to 20,230 votes, with more than half of the votes counted. His tally stood at 98,169 votes, while Mr Patnaik polled 77,939 votes. End of article
