Congress leading in 181, BJP 90 and JD 39 seats

New Delhi, June 16: the Congress (I) is leading in
181 seats out of the 389 Lok Sabha constituencies for which
counting trends were available at 2200 hours, according to
doordarshan.

      Coming second, the BJP was leading in 90 seats followed
by Janata Dal with 39, CPI-m 23, AIADMK 11, cpi and tdp 9 each
jmm 5 , rsp 2, bsp 0ne and others 45.

      According to doordarshan analysis, the Congress i was
heading for gain in 32 seats and the BJP in i4 while the
Janata Dal was losing its advantage in 56 seats which it had
gained in 1989 elections.
      Out of the 56 seats whose results were declared by 2200
hours, the coongress i had bagged 40 seats and BJP 15.
      While the Congress i had gaind 15 seats, the BJP had
lost one, the analysis said.

      the Congress(I) was leading in all the four
parliamentary constituencies of himachal Pradesh. Of the 10
Lok Sabha seats in Haryana,the Congress(I) was ahead in four
the SJP in two and the JD and the Haryana vikas party in one
each.
      In Karnataka,former deputy chairman of planning
commission,Mr.R.K.Hegde was trailing in bagalkot,while former
Chief minister gundu Rao and former union minister jaffer
sharieff were leading in banglore south and north.
