India will play 5 tests starting in November. The crowded schedule allows only two matches before the first test. Then there will be a triangular one-day series between India, Australia and West Indies. This will be followed by the World Cup which gets under way on February 22. The final is scheduled for March 25 at Sydney or Melbourne. It was also mentioned that the possiblity of South African participation in the World Cup was being considered. The South African cricket board is holding celebrations to mark its becoming a multiracial body. Among the guests is Sunil Gavaskar who has been granted special permission to travel there (since Indian passports are not valid for travel to South Africa). The Indian government said that it did not plan to normalize relations with South Africa yet. End of article ==============
