This hint is not original with me, but I can't remember its source, and
thought I would pass it on.
Marking pens called "paint markers" are very useful as resist pens. I have
two I bought from the local art supply store (Koenig Art Emporium). One is
a FaberCastell "uni-Paint Marker" ("oil-base, opaque"), the other is
a Uchida "DecoColor Opaque Paint Marker". Other companies may make similar
products. The markers have fiber tips that deliver thick, opaque ink that
dries in a few minutes. Less touch-up is required than with the usual
Radio Shack or "Sharpie" markers. The disadvantage is that the paint
markers I have have relatively wide tips, and aren't good for fine PC
work.

I'v seen the Radio Shack markers in action. They are absolutely
useless for makeing PC boards.
You might also tape up the copper end of the board, then cut fine
lines out of the tape. Then, you might not have a problem with the
thick paint marker. I planned on useing fingernail polish for PC work
this weekend, but I think I will give the paint marker a shot.
