All over the place I've seen these yellow ribbons and American flags and signs up with the slogan "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS". I asked alot of people at my school what that meant. I got a number of responses. The first tended to come from fraternity brothers and athletes: "Kick Saddam'sass and free Kuwait" The second came from people who had friends in the armed forces: "They hope that such and such person does well and comes home safe" The third came from people who have family there, and they said " They want their son/daughter/sibling/spouse home safe" The fourth came from a mixed group: "A peaceful end to the conflict and the troops home safe" Many Americans have agreed to display this symbol in common support however Americans are divided about its message. I SUPPORT THE TROOPS. I don't support them as soldiers however. I support them as people who dedicated their lives to defending this country. I support them as victims of George Bush'es foreign and economic policies. I am very much against this war, but I support the people who have to fight it. - Matt Harelick
