People may remember some time ago my remarks about my machine crashing during pulse dialing if any significant amount of disk activity occured. As often as 2 or 3 times a day. Averaging several times per week. Well, during two months of tone dialing, my system has crashed precisely once, and that due to a static hit. So, if people are encountering mysterious crashes, they're running a relatively old OS release (3.5.1.4 is what I've got), and they're pulse dialing, switching to tone dial does the trick. (Yeah, maybe one day I'll upgrade to 3.51m where this is fixed, but 3.5.1.4 works just fine for me. Switching to tone dial cost less than buying the floppies I'd need to redo this thing)
