Okay, this has been posted in the past, and I have made no progress other than using a work-around. When I try to change the add-on RS-232 ports status via UA, it always fails with "HFC ERROR NUMBER 22". Yes, I've reloaded the machine since it's happened, yes the board and machine otherwise check out. Nodes look fine to me (what do I know). The first port works (connected to an MCB51 and keyboard, driven by Keynote). I can't use the other two ports. I've tried changing them as "install" and as "root". 1) Any clue as to what could cause this -- where to look. 2) Is there a more "direct" way that could "force" the ports to be usable when connected to a terminal (I want to use layers on a 5620). Could I call the requisite functions directly (of course, but what are they), or perform the operations they do by other means? - G. Mark Stewart ATT-BTL IX-1G-266 ihlpq!gmark (708)979-0914
