Assist a novice, please! I have recently purchased a 3b1 and hve been gleefuly learning the system. I am experienced at UNIX, so this is no problem. What is however, a problem is emacs. I downloaded the binary for emacs (18.55.1) from cheops, and got it running on my system. No sweat. My problem arises in using the keyboard mapping file included with the package (unixpc.el). It is supposed to remap the arrow keys and various other function keys on the keyboard to perform tasks, but it doesn't work for me! Am I supposed to rename the file to something emacs will recognize? Should I locate it somewhere else (not /pkg/gnu-emacs/lisp), or is there something even more insidious to be concidered? I enjoy emacs on my Sun account, but it is alread mapped for the PC keyboard. Any help greatly appreciated. Fritz (jlowrey@skat.usc.edu) -- J.
