We suggest that you go to your bank to get a financial statement and write a letter of invitation for the person you intend to get over to take to her/his workplace and the public security bureau for passport application. It works as long as s/he insists on the visiting nature of the trip. After s/he has got the passport, s/he can go to the Canadian Embassy for medical examiniation forms and etc. Wen Bing --------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 30 Jan 91 13:20:00 EST From: ...@...CA Subject: Questions about PR and Family Reunification. To: Bing-Wen@carleton.ca X-Vms-To: IN%"Bing-Wen@carleton.ca" Message-Id: <...ca> Bing Wen: Could you let me know that is there any thing new about the family reunification cases? I heard from a local immigration officer last week that they have to wait until they know the results of medical exam and background check of our family members in China to process our final landing. The problem appears to be after applied for family reunification for months, our family member were not contacted by the Canadian Embassy to arrange the medical exam. Since the family members have difficulty to get passport from the Chinese Public Security Bureau, they could not contact the Canadian Embassy by themselves either. It seems now that the Canadian Embassy in China handle the family reunification cases follow the normal immigration proceeders. Therefore, without our sponsorship, the immigration proceeders of our family members could not even get started. If the local immigration office hold our final landing due to our family reunification application, then every thing jams up. We can not sponsor our family members at all. Do you have any information indicates that our final landing must be delayed by our family reunification application? What should we do now? Is FCSSC still working on the Family Reunification Cases? It is highly appreciated If you could give me some information and suggestions. Regards XXX (Prefer not to release name and e-mail address to the public. Thanks.)

The following message is circulated in china-can. --- Ruopeng --------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 31 Jan 91 20:12:52 PST From: zcai <zcai%SIRIUS.UVIC.CA@UBCMTSG.BITNET> Hi, Dear Mr./Mrs, We are writting to you hope to get your help. The problem is our PR applications were turned down. But the more serious problem is our wives have suffered or will suffered the same result. The fact is my wife was refused to give visitor visa on Jan.31. The reason is "because your husband applied for PR, you can not visit him". What the reason! So our problem is really serious. As the case became more and more, there will be more people who will face the same problem. According to what we know, there are at least hundreds of people like us in Canada. Because of the difficulties to know each other, we only have the names about twenty listed as below. Therefore we hope that FCSSC could pay much attenstion for our problem. The best way for the first step, we think, to collect the case like us in Canada. That means there must be a person to be responsble for the thing. If no one would like to do that for this thing in the board of FCSSC, we would like to do the assistant or response for this thing on behalf of FCSSC. If let us to do the this, the mail we would like to send to whole Canada as follows: .... ===============================================================================
