Makes you wonder doesn't it? Back about a year ago many of those 'evil' assault rifles were banned and the flow of them was reduced to little or none coming in. Now, due to the three major changes made below (all cosmetic I might add) the things are starting to reappear on store shelves again. I just noticed some AK-47S's made in Cairo by Maadi which have the three big changes: a). No flash Hider b). Limited Magazine Capacity c). Thumbhole Stock These things were selling for about the same price as pre-ban AK's were. Same thing goes for some of the guns below which were previously banned and now reappear in an altered (physical or model number) state: HK SR-9 Orion Galil AR and ARM AK's Daewoos Portugese G3's (HK91 clones) And the ridiculous part about all this is that these changes are so superficial that they can easily be changed back to their normal appearance by even a skilled idiot (Yes, i took that 1-800-BE-A-HOME-GUNSMITH course :-) ). All the parts needed are readily available and gun owners are willing to sell them. I wonder what nitwit actually thought these changes made a big difference? I am personally glad they are still coming in as I can have a chance to buy them before they REALLY go away. I would encourage anyone who can afford it and wants to own one of these weapons to consider buying it soon! It won't be long before we gun owners are the brunt of more mud-slinging. Anyone else have any comments, criticisms, points about the import ban and the changes and ramifications since it was introduced?? Steve
