I have a Master Tanto San Mai Steel Cold Steel produced. It has never rusted. I take typical care to see that it doesn't. Stainless isn't stainless in that it can corrode but this one holds its edge in salt water and doesn't rust. Guess it is stainless. As for price. Mine was cheap. Guy shoeved through the door of a blazer. Left blue paint on it. Store sample and he couldn't/wouldn't clean it. I gave him $20. for it in the box. the Paint came off. No scratches. Then my oldest is an authorized Cold Steel Dealer. I paid 1/6 the current dealers price. and so $100 is a godd price. C.
