[rec.guns] Scoring highpower targets- NRA response

newcomb@world.std.com (Donald R Newcomb) (06/22/91)

About a month back I wrote to the NRA with the same question
about scoring .223 rounds that I recently posted to this
group. Yesterday I received my reply. Of course, I defer
completely to their response. I may, however, write the rules
committee seeking a clearer statement of scoring policy in
next year's rule book.

Dear Mr. Newcomb:

Thank you for your letter of 19 May on scoring sub-.30
calibre shot holes in highpower rifle competition.

It is our opinion that your pit officer acted in the correct
manner. If a shot is not questionable it does not need to be
plugged.

We will forward your letter to the highpower rifle committee
for comments.

					Sincerely,
