[rec.guns] A post for rec.guns

Our mailer doesn`t want to do the work anymore,
so I will try another route.

---------------------------------------------

Senator Biden`s crime bill, S-1241, is currently
under consideration in the Senate. The Bush
Administration's bill was voted down as a substitute
on Thursday night.

There are many very bad sections in S-1241; for a
full list contact me by email or read my posts
in talk.politics.guns or talk.politics.misc.

A couple of quick examples (with the moderators
permission): ALL magazines, rifle as well as pistol,
that contain more than 15 rounds would be banned.
Existing ones MUST be registered. The AR-15 is
banned BY NAME. Persons accused of ANY firearms-
related crime (including violation of the above
new regulations) could be held without trial for
an extended period of time. A version of the Brady
Bill is included as part of the package.

This bill is very ugly, folks, but President Bush
might sign it if some of the things he wants are
included in it.

Please call your Senator today or Monday; this
bill will be voted on Monday night or Tuesday.

Here is the telephone number: 202-224-3121

Tell your Senator to vote NO on Biden's S - 1241.

[MODERATOR: Follow up discussion should go to t.p.g.
But, for the record, folks, this is one we need to
win, and it does not look good.]
