Yea, I tried my brother-in-law's .35 Remington Contender, 14" I believe.
It was quite brutal as I recall, after 3 shots I had enough and switched
over to his .44 Mag. After shooting the .35 Rem. the .44 felt down-right
comfortable.

The Contender was quite accurate with the open sights however.

For what it's worth...

The T/C is an excellent hand gun, I've been using one for years.

However, any time that I receive a complaint from one of my customers about
the T/C, it seems that is with the 35 REM. I beleive that the somewhat less
than perfect performance (ie. ignition ) of this cartridge in the T/C is because
of the way that it head spaces. This causes a varience in the strike of the
firing pin.

My recommendation for a good all around cartridge in the T/C would be the
.357 Rem. Max.. If you really want hot, then go to the .357 Herret.

With the .357 Rem. Max. you can fire any thing from .38 Spec. to the Maximun
cartridge, and it is a pleasure to shoot. Most of the time I recommend to my
customers the 10 inch bull barrel in this caliber. I feel that the 10 inch
is long enought to make good use of the cartridge while still having a gun
that points, handles and carries very well. The 14s and 16s have their place
but, are much more awkward to handle.

BTW - my own personal deer gun is a T/C in .41 Mag (10 in.), but, I have the most
fun with my .222 Rem. barrel. T/C barrels ARE a religious issue amoung
advocates.

                                 Enjoy

                                 Dennis
