Is there anyone out there with a Glock 23 (.40 S&W) compact which could give me the dimensions of the gun ? I'm looking for over all slide length, overall height and grip width. Thanks. John -- John Gayman, WA3WBU UUCP: uunet!wa3wbu!john Packet: WA3WBU @ WB3EAH

Well, I don't have a Glock 23, but the owner's manual for my 19 has all
the dimensions of the 17, 17L, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23. The specs for the 23
are:
Caliber .40 S & W
Length 6.97 inches
Height w/sights 4.92 inches
Width 1.18 inches
Length between sights 5.98 inches
Barrel Length 4.02 inches
Barrel profile Hexagonal profile with right hand twist
Length of twist 15.75 inches
Magazine Capacity
Standard 13 rounds
Optional -- (no optional capacity, unlike 17, 17L, 19)
Mass (weight):
w/o magazine 20.67 oz
empty magazine 1.76 oz
magazine full ~9.35 oz
Muzzle velocity ~984 fps
Muzzle energy ~524 J
Trigger pull/
slack travel ~10 N/ 0.2 inches
Trigger pull/
travel to discharge ~20-30 N/ 0.1 inches
Muzzel velocity and energy will, of course, vary with the type of ammunition
used. And, of course, all these specs may be changed whenever GLOCK, inc.
wants to.
BTW, these dimensions are almost identical to those of the 19, the exceptions
being twist of barrel and a minor difference in weight.
