[comp.multimedia] ToolBook or Hypercard PC VCR controll needed

tj@gpu.utcs.utoronto.ca (Terry Jones) (01/22/91)

We were just loaned an NEC PC-VCR which is a computer (serial)
controlled vcr. No software came with it (even though I requested
any Mac or PC demo programs!)

1) Does anybody have ANYTHING that works with the NEC PC-VCR for either
the PC or the Mac that I could get hold of FAST to try this thing out while
it is here?

2) DOes anybody have any toolbook stacks for controlling the serial ports
of a PC so I could write something?

Any pointers would be helpful also.

Thanks
tj

This probably won't help you much, since you need it right away, but
IconAuthor (a Windows-3.0-based authoring system) has drivers for the
NEC PC-VCR. Maybe someone in your area has it and can give you a demo
if you bring the VCR?

I have been trying to find a place where I can purchase the
NEC PC-VCR. I haven't had much luck. Any suggestions? If
geography matters, I am located in the San Francisco bay area.
