There was a discussion a while back entitled 'Multimedia Products for Unix'. I would like to add this: Metro Link Inc. have added TARGA+ and TARGA-16 support to their X Windows package. The TARGA+ server supports all 16-bit modes supported by the card (up to 1024x768x16bits) As far as multimedia goes, there is no video in a window, but the function keys are wired to switch between live and display mode, and capture live video to .tga files very quickly. Also included is a .tga X11 viewer. The TARGA+ supports RGB, composite, and S-video input, and frames can be captured and brought up into the X environment very quickly. Frames can be captured to successive /tmp files as fast as the hard disk can keep up. The product is available NOW for ISC, SCO Unix, and ESIX Rev D.
