[comp.multimedia] NEED POINTERS INTO MULTIMEDIA

jclose@potomac.ads.com (Jeff Close) (03/08/91)

I am getting very interested in developing a multimedia application
in one of several potential areas. In short, I'm fascinated by the
potential and the technical challenges and I want to get into this
technology. My question is: Where to start? I've read several books
on DVI and CD-I and I am curious where else to look for information.
Can anyone name some periodicals that support the field? Also, I
don't often see equipment forsale in m.f.c -- is this because it isn't
often sold used, or because that's the wrong place to look? Thanks
much for any response.

I've just run across a new, controlled circulation publication called
New Media Age. V1#1 (January, 1991) looks pretty interesting. It is
published by HyperMedia Communications, Inc of Sunnyvale, CA.
Subscription inquiries go to Customer Service Dept, New Media Age, POB
1771, Riverton, NJ 08077.
