I am designing a real-time video compression board that needs a converter from a standard composite NTSC signal or S-Video signal to digital YUV (640x480 pixels) signal. I would appreciate if anybody can provide information on chips that I can use to design such converter. I am already aware of the Philips chip set (8702, 7191 etc.), but its poor documentation is proving to be a bottleneck. I was wondering if there are any other chip sets around that will let me implement the above. Thanks, anantha anantha@zabriskie.berkeley.edu 415-642-9372 VLSI/DSP Group, EECS Department, U.C. There's also supposed to be a Digital Television Evaluation Module (DTEM) from Philips which uses those chips, and at least the schematics in the docs for it might be helpful... or perhaps even the board itself.
