JOB DESCRIPTION The ENSTB Bretagne announces the creation of a post as lecturer in the "Networks and Multimedia Services" Departement at its annexe in Rennes. Job Profile The person taking up this post will coordinate and participate in some teaching in the "Networks and Information Systems" option. S/he will also be required to participate in teaching in the common core cur- riculum at the ENST Bretagne in Brest. Howewer, the main role of the person recruited will be to set up a research group in the field of networks, in cooperation with ENST Br's director of scientific research. The research lecturer, with a sound scientific backgroud, will help train and supervise postgraduate students (doing doctoral thesis), will negotiate research contracts and be responsible for the department's scientific papers and publications. The objective for the end of 1992 is to have four postgraduate research students and to manage research contracts worth 1 million francs. Candidate Profile - Qualified "Docteur d'Etat" (doctoral thesis) or equivalent, empowered to supervise research, specializing in the field of networks. - Comfirmed researcher ( publications, thesis supervision, contracts, relation with national and international institutions: INRIA, CNET, CNRS, Europeen projects...). -Teaching experience in further education (Grande Ecole, or University). Teaching Environment The research and teaching context is the "Networks and Multimedia Services" department of the ENST Br Rennes annexe. Created in 1989, this department is responsible for all the "Networks" teaching in the school: -2 credit options in the 2nd year -2 options and 2 "maste`res" in the 3rd year -a very active contribution in continuing education. The department has 3 research-lecturers, an engineer, a technician and a teaching assistant. The equipement development of this department is one of the school management's top priorities. Job Evolution Taking into account the growing importance of the "Networks and Multimedia Services" department, and the expected evolution of the ENST Br Rennes annexe, this post has a excellent potential.
