HI! I AM A STUDENT AT CAPILANO COLLEGE IN NORTH VANCOUVER BC CANADA.
I AM ENROLLED IN A PROGRAM CALLED APPLIED INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AND WILL BE
DOING AN ARTICLE ON MULTIMEDIA FOR A LOCAL MAGAZINE. I AM INTERESTED IN HEARING
FROM THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE WHO MAY BE EMPLOYED IN THE MULTIMEDIA FIELD, AND
HOW YOU BECAME INVOLVED, WHAT YOU DO, WHERE YOU SEE THE FIELD GOING. MY MAIN
ANGLE WILL BE ON WHAT MARKETS FOR MULTIMEDIA EXIST AT PRESENT AND WHICH
DIRECTION ARE THEY HEADED? THANKS FOR ANY INFO........

Probably the best platform to develop a multimedia production would be an
Amiga. The Amiga was built since day 1 to be the perfect machine to combine
video, sound, and interaction between system and user. Multitasking also helps
too..:)

Check out a back issue of Byte magazine from last year. They had a big thing
on Multimedia, whetre they reviewed the state of multimedia on both the Mac,
PC and Amiga platforms. They overwhelmingly agreed that the Amiga was the best
development platform. Its cost effective, relatively cheap, and gives
high-impact results with comparatively little work when compared to Mac and PC
multimedia.

If you want my person opinion on Microsoft's so-called "standard" for
Multimedia.. ..Its pretty much a joke to me.. just another attempt by Bill
Gates to oink-oink his way into a new area to make money. His proposed MS-DOS
based Multimedia platform is something the Amiga can, and has already been
doing for years now.. He considers it something that will be done in the near
future, but in actuallity, its being done now, on the Amiga.

I have been reading up about the Next workstation. It appears to be designed
for use in multimedia. Has anyone any experience with it in this field?

Thanks, RJG.
