I am interested in doing real-time video display, image capture, and of course, ultimately real-time video compression and decompression on Sun workstations under X11 (MIT's version). If you have experience with add-on cards for Suns, such as Parallax, Videopix, or RasterOps, I'd like to hear your thoughts on usability and functionality. I'm also particularly interested in the programming interfaces. Carlyn Lowery lowery@thumper.bellcore.com (201)829-4021

I believe Videopix is little more than a digitizer. Although I haven't seen anything from parallax recently, their stuff has traditionally blown me away (reads excellent), and it cost the most ~7,000. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William Brandsdorfer | UUCP: !uunet!shearson.com!wbrand Lehman Brothers | ARPA: wbrand@shearson.com 388 Greenwich St. | Voice: (212) 464-3835 New York, N.Y. 10013 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
