I have heard that changes have been made to MIL-STD-454 Requirment 64 requiring the use of VHDL for ASICs when performing board or subsystem simulations. The current requirement 64 states that ASICs designed after 30 Sept. 1988 be documented by means of structural and behavioral VHDL. Also I heard rumblings about all digital qualified devices for use in board level designs shall have a VHDL model. Clearly not all qualified commercial parts have VHDL models. The intent of this seems to be a requirement for VHDL for boards as well as ASICs. Any specific information on this would be appreciated. --------------------------------------------------------- Fred Rose Honeywell Systems and Research Center MS-2100 e-mail: rose@src.honeywell.com 3660 Technology Dr. Phone : (612) 782-7106 Minneapolis, MN 55418 Fax : (612) 782-7438
