Is anyone out there still working on AHDL? There was a lot of talk about it at one time, but it seems to have died out a little. I`m specifically looking for any information on work on any standards being developed for an AHDL or an analog package for VHDL. Any pointers to work being done to model analog behavior with VHDL or any other HDLs would be appreciated, as would discussions of proposals to the 1992 restandardization committee on features in VHDL to support analog modeling. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alan Whittaker Harris Semiconductor Palm Bay, FL email: agw@mlb.semi.harris.com PH# 407/724-7220

Work is proceeding on the collection of analog requirements for VHDL 92. Mark Brown (of IBM) is the head of that committee. I will send him Email requesting permission to post his own Email address to the net. The latest work that I know of being done concerning actually modeling analog circuits in VHDL 87 is by Ted Cooley of Dartmouth College (New Hampshire) and Don Hansen (Mississippi State). Both are involved in the Microwave Hardware Description Project (MHDL) currently underway. MHDL is a separate project; its relationship remains somewhat unclear (this relationship is the subject of a feasibility study being performed by Intermetrics, Inc.). I am reluctant to launch into great detail without knowing more specifically your interest. At your discretion, please post more specific questions or send Email to the address below. If there is sufficient interest, I will prepare a general post on the MHDL project. Dave Barton barton@i2wash.com
