Amiga World had an article a month or two (or three) ago that compared
several different programs. There was a sidebar about a new HAM paint program,
Spectracolor, by Oxxy-Ageis that is built on top of the origional Photon
Paint program. That's all the more I know...

So buy Deluxe Photolab! It supports hires, lores, ham, interlace, halfbrite...

All in one nice package. It also comes with a program to manipulate images
in ways a paint program normally doesn't, as well as a nice utility to print
IFF files as large or small posters.

Damn, I'm still waiting for a version of Deluxe Paint that works with HAM!

I mean, Deluxe Paint III workns on an A3000, has animation and colour
cycling, tools for perspective, 64 colour modes but still doesn't
support HAM!

Aargh!

And crashes every other time, poster mode doesn't work reliable also. From
my point of view it can never be a substitute for DPaint HAM...

I've been using DPL on and off now for about a year and a half.
It never crashes on me! I especially like the Posters program.
I've done sinfle page posters up to 5page x 5page size with
no problems. I've heard of others doing wall size (8'x8') with
not problems (other then using hugh amounts of ink). I don't
know what Ottmars problem's could have been caused by.
	For the record I have 5megs on a 68k A2000.
And I thought DPaint was non-HAM?
My gripe is why has EA abandoned any upgrades or enhancements
to Deluxe PhotoLab? I would like to see the Paint program
enhanced to give better brush tools, among other things.
I'm dreaming now, but I'd really like to see Deluxe PhotoLab Prof.
	strictly for 24bit!!!!

Odd. Maybe you have a different version? I've never had any of the photolab
programs crash on me, even when I've asked them to do absurd things. They
may take up a lot of CPU time before deciding they can't do that though. I
multi-task a lot, running UUCP and other software in the background all the
time, and Photolab has never brought the system down.
