Pardon my ignorance, I don't own an Amiga, but I use one at school. (I'm not a doctor. . .) Anyway, is the IFF picture storage format simple? Are there any Amiga picture formats which ARE simple? I am looking to write a program on the UNIX I use at home from dial-up to calculate an image and save it as a graphic viewable on a computer I use. If anyone knows of a way to convert an array of integers into an Amiga picture file in C, please tell me. -- zane@ddsw1.MCS.COM

Not really, but straightforward once you understand the mechanisms. But to port pic files to the Amiga means in addition that you must learn a bit about the available graphics modes on the Amiga, because every IFF file comes with detailed informations about which mode to use with which sizes etc. > Are there any >Amiga picture formats which ARE simple? There might exist also other specialized formats (e.g. for some digitizers) but it is highly recommended to stick to the pure IFF standard. Luckily, this *IS* a standard and will prosper even more with any new application following it. -- Best regards, Dr. Peter Kittel // E-Mail to \\ Only my personal opinions...
