I heard something about problems with FCC approval of the Colorburst framebuffer the other day. Is this correct? Does anyone know when the Colorburst will be released? Helge --- Helge E. Rasmussen . As I understand it there is no "problem" with FCC approval of ColorBurst. FCC only guarantees _6_months_ turn around time for approval. MAST said they have never had one of their devices take more than "fourdeen wueeks" (that's Australian for fourteen weeks :-). They reportedly sent it in before Christmas and they expect news "any time." As soon as they get approval, they plan on shipping out the first batch which they say is about 2000-2500 units. They said the first 1400 are bound for Europe (Germany I understand) and the 1401st is mine! :-) Anyway, I'll let you know when I get word. Rick Tillery (drtiller@uokmax.ecn.uoknor.edu)

I have seen and used Colorburst. What a phenomenal product. It is so much better than any other card on the US market. I saw a screen blanker that was Colorburst color cycling a 768x580 (PAL) screen in 24bit color, and a 24bit mouse pointer. It can scroll a screen (768x580) at 60fps!!!! I it hard to believe, but it is true. $499 is the current price, as long as RAM doesn't rise any more. See it at AMIGAWORLD EXPO in New York on March 15-17. This is not vapor-hardware, this is a real product. There are 11 in existance. One is the prototype. 250 will be available around March 15-16. The next batch will be about 1500 to Germany. After that, MAST shipds to the US market backorders. After that, get one from your dealer, mail-order house, or MAST. tucker@tahoe.unr.edu "There are those that make things happen... there are those that watch things happen... and there are those that wonder what happened."
