Hello, all.
I'm writing a ray tracer for a class, and I would like to do as much
of the work as possible from home on my A3000. Most of the work is
just lots of number crunching, so I should be ok on most points.
Unfortunately, I don't have a convenient way to render the data on the
Amiga. The graphics are not the 1K x 1K 24bit level that I can get on the
Iris at school, but they should be good enough to find out if I'm on
the right track.
I have used DKBTrace, and I think I can use the postprocessors I got
with that to do my work. However, I need the data written to a file
first. I don't know the format used by DKBTrace.
Can anyone give a description of the data format used in the so-called
"raw rgb" files that DKBtrace outputs? Once I have a file written in
this format, I'll be able to display it via the DumpToIFF program and
an IFF viewer I have handy.
Something else that might help: Can anyone point me to the place in
the source where the output routines are? This is less important than
just knowing the format, since I have my own restrictions on how the
output has to work.... Still, it might help.
Please e-mail; don't post. I don't read this group. Thanks much!
