[comp.sys.amiga.graphics] Editing NewTek's Dynamic HiRes

LASKEY@svax05.pcr.co.uk (03/13/91)

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a paint package either in existance or under
development that will handle Interlaced, overscanned, Dynamic HiRes HAM
piccies from DigiView 4???

On the subject of DigiView, is the Dyna-Show program packaged with
DigiView freely distributable, and is there a DigiView 5 under development?

Thankyou very much.

P.S. Can someone tell me a mail address or a U.K. telephone number for Gold Disk,
or perhaps a registered distributer. I think I saw a free upgrade offer to
Pro Page 1.3 users who bought their copy after August of 1990 (in an American
magazine). People are talking about PP2.0 but I've had no correspondence
with Gold Disk since I registered in December (although it did have to be
mailed to Canada). Perhaps it got lost. Hope someone can help. Thanks
again.

Lake Forest Logic's "Macro paint" is currently the only Amiga paint
package that works in "dynamic" hi-res mode. In fact that's the ONLY
mode it works in. It's been out and available for a couple months.
LFL is running ads for it in the Amiga magazines (in the USA anyway..)
usually with a NASA/Astronaut picture in HAM and Dynamic both with the
tagline "This is your Amiga on HAM... This is your Amiga on Macro paint...
any questions?"

Macro Paint allows for custom buttons in its interface that call
your own ARexx macros (thus the program's name), has all the familiar
"Dpaint" type painting tools,
but it's a little strange to work with since it has to refresh the
screen every now and then as you work with different colors. It
imports both IFF24 and Dynamic pictures as well as the usual IFF
modes and, unlike DigiView 4.0 when working with Dynamic modes,
Macro Paint multitasks. See your dealer.

[usual disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with Lake Forest Logic, etc. etc.]

Yes, there is a Dynamic-HIRES painting package. I forgot what the name of
it was, but it was by Lake Forest Logic Software. I saw a review of it in Amigaworld or Amazing, I can't remember which. Anyways, there you have it.
