You were probably reading about the 'raw' format from DCTV. The 24Bit IFF is just what it says, 24 bit IFF. DCTV actually uses three different formats. 'Display' which is DCTV's own creation, 'Raw' which I have no idea where it came from, and '24Bit IFF' which is there to allow transport to and from other 24 bit packages.
