[comp.sys.amiga.graphics] My DCTV won't work!

Viet.Ho@bbs.acs.unc.edu (Viet Ho) (04/12/91)

Help my DCTV won't work with my A2000!

Symptom:

In RGB mode, the top quarter of the screen seems to be
shifted over to the right --screwing up the important scanline
DCTV reads to display in NTSC. In composite mode there is
NOTHING-- no glorious truecolor NTSC pics to see, not even the
paint toolbox! --just a blank screen (when I run the software of
    course!)

 voltages or
 such...

 Anyone can help???

How about a rundown of the hardware you have installed? Possibly there is a
conflict with something in there. I have already stated a display problem
with the DCTV/Toaster combo (minor with easy fix) perhaps there is something
else we should know about?

I am not running DCTV on a 2000..but I know several who are successfully.
(I use an Amy 1000 with Lucas/Francis..the 1000..the *real* Amiga!)
..what are you using to display the picture, what software..and with
what package did you create the image and what was the size and number
of bit planes in the original? The following two things will prevent
displaying a dctv pic..1) If you are in dPaint III and you have the
title bar on (use F10 to make it disappear)..the title bar obscures
the top line where the ntsc info is..hence no dctv picture..or
2) You are in a display program and the cursor is near the top of the
screen..again obscuring the top lines of the file..this also will blank
dctv output. My 2 cents.

Just little thing that happen to me with DCTV.
I need to load/unload the programe a couple of time before having it
 output something...
I usally load tintadjust first (no display).
 Anyone got that problem?

Thanks to everyone who replied, but I found out why my DCTV didn't like
my A2K. Seems my RGB's pins 22-23 weren't feeding power to the DCTV
because their traces were literally blown off the PCB. Hmm looks like
someone plugged in the monitor cable while the machine was running.
Anyways, wiring in the two traces did the job!

Everybody intereste in video get a Camcorder Magzine.
They are very Amigaized. They had about 4 articles
in the last magazine on the Toaster and the superiority of
the AMiga to IBM and MAC's. Cool
