[comp.sys.amiga.graphics] Cannon PJ1080 ink???

chuckh@hpindwa.cup.hp.com (Chuck Hacala) (04/04/91)

A friend of mine asked me to post this. He is looking for a place to get
ink for his Cannon PJ1080 color printer (I think that is the number). If
you know of a store (mail order or otherwise) that has ink for the Cannon
printer, please let me know.

Thanks,
Chuck

Cartridges for the Canon PJ 1080A are available from RadioShack. Their
CGP 220 (?) was the same printer. Stock numbers: 26-1281 B&W and
26-1282 color. You may have to call the Tandy parts place in Texas to
get them mail-order, I don't think too many retail outlets have them.
I think the number is 1-800-433-2024.

       Willy.

PS: make sure they send you the right part. I've been trying to get the
B&W cartridge, but they sent me the color one.

It turns out that several companies used to OEM the PJ-1080A, and sell
it under their own label. So if you can't find a Cannon supplier, you might
want to try...

Radio Shack. I bought ink for mine at a Radio Shack computer store
(which is different from their regular stores). Radio SHack used to
(maybe still does) OEM the PJ-1080A under a Radio Shack part number;
so just ask for "color ink jet printer cartridges".

IBM: Another thought is that IBM also used to OEM this printer (though they
changed the control codes), so places like Bussinessland, etc. may carry
supplies for them.

QuadRAM also used to OEM this printer; maybe you can try them if other
avenues peter out.

   No problem.

Radio Shack CGP-220. Black ink pack is #26-1281. Don't have
a color pack to check the part # on.

Quadram Black ink pack # QJ9010, Color ink pack # QJ9011.

I'd reccomend Radio Shack as a source for the Canon PJ1080A ink cartridges too.
We use a Canon PJ1080A to death, and our technician gets all the ink carts
from Radio Shack!.
