It was pointed out by Steve Worley (sp) on the Imagine mailing list
that the 4 images for comparison in the latest (May) issue of
AmigaWorld were incorrectly arranged.
It seems that the comparison render images that contain a small
checkerboard with a chrome ball sitting on a white chalk cube, next
to a green glass cylinder are reversed for Imagine and Lightwave 3D.
If you read the captions and look at the images you can see that the
top left image is the Lightwave image because of the lack of true
reflection in the chrome ball and lack of true refraction through the
glass cylinder. The bottom left image shows true raytracing output
that Imagine offers.
I'm not posting this to say which is better or worse, just to say
that the images are reversed. If the quality of the images have a
bearing on your purchasing decision, you should know that they are
indeed incorrect as soon as possible.
How they could have done this on such an important article (for us
3D'ers) is beyond me.

I would like to state that I am unsure as to which is the correct
output at this time. It occured to me after posting the previous
message that the Imagine image could be either 2A or 3A as both
images show raytraced output. However, from the images in the
magazine, it is difficult to discern which is the Imagine image and
which is the 3D Professional image. At any rate, 1A certainly isn't
the Imagine image. It's the Lightwave image.
