[comp.sys.amiga.graphics] Drawing Thick Lines/Curves

cpnfs@marlin.jcu.edu.au (Neil F Squires) (04/20/91)

Help out there. I am doing a third year graphics project and I have not
been able to get my amiga to draw thick lines for my curves.
The curevs I am drawing are Bezier and B Spline curves and to get over
90% I must be able to get the lines to change thickness. I can do it by
implementing the Bresenham's line drawing algorithm but I was after
something faster. I have tried using the AreaDraw command but I run out
of memory when trying to draw a Bezier Curve with over 500 points in
it.
I have also tried drawing a polygon with the outline set to the curve.
This works for a small number of points but when the number is
greater than 200 it starts corrupting my screen. I have tried increasing
the size of my buffer in the AreaInfo to 1Meg but it still corrupts the
screen.
If anyone has a solution to this problem could they EMail me at the
address below.
  Thanks in advance Neil.
