I am posting this query from a friend who does not have access to the network. I will forward any replies or followups: Steve Hill. ----- Does anyone know of package - PD or commercial - that is capable of making an animation from a series of IFF files? What I am looking for is a program that will create the animation and allow it to be played without having to use the original package. I think that DPaint III allows you to animate, but does not produce a stand-alone output (?) - thus you need DP III to get anywhere. The famous juggler demo is a good example of what I am looking for, because the animation is run by calling a utility (movie I think) that will play the stored scenes. I have got an idea of how these are made - storing the first image and then the differences between one image and the next or by compressing the images, and decompressing them at play back time, - but no idea of how to do it. It would be great if a program for doing this was on a Fish disk, but if not, then having to buy it would not be the end of the world. Thanks.

I've found it handy for finishing test animations in Sculpt-Animate 4D, when, for some strange reason, Sculpt-Animate wouldn't be able to finish creating my animation file. Hope this helps! Cheers!! I have found a rather annoying problem with Dpaint's 'PLAY' program. It seems that overscan anims that work fine within Dpaint itself break with the play program. I am referring to DCTV animations in particular. I take 3/4 bitplane 738x482 frames, load them into Dpaint and animate them with no problem. But, the same anims will NOT load and play with the 'PLAY' program (go figger) --------------------------------------- | patrick_meloy@outbound.wimsey.bc.ca | | 'The Outbound' BBS Vancouver BC | ---------------------------------------
