FINALLY !! Some help for everyone stuck with the famous Demomaker!!
I had a play with it on the weekend, and after some help from "Muzzle"
(who promises to convert it to english soon!) and a FRENCH -> ENGLISH
dictionary!! It is actually really easy to use once you work out just
wot is going on!!
Here are some useful words you may need:
ANNULE - CANCEL
CHARGE-LE - LOAD
EFFACE - ERASE
PETIT - SMALL
RIEN - NOTHING
ETOILES - STARS
MILIEU - MIDDLE
DUREE - DURATION
DROI - RIGHT
GAUCH - LEFT
The easiest way is to get hold of a F->E dictionary...
Anyway, the general way that it works, is... the whole demo is split
into small MODULES (or "pistes" for the French). So you make each
module with the module editor ("editeur piste" of course!), and then
when you choose TEST DEMO, it plays the demo, by playing each MODULE
in order. In the MODULE EDITOR, you can swap between modules, and
insert or remove modules... so it makes it pretty easy.
Then, there is the two scrolly messages (no Demo would be complete without
them!) which continually scroll along the top and bottom... You
just type your great messages, and it plays them automatically.
You have to be careful typing them in, as a few keys are somewot re-arranged...
The French must have weird keyboards!! ie: Q=A, A=Q, Z=W, W=Z, ;=M,
M=,, ,=;, 8=!, etc....
That's about all there is to it really... besides making pictures on
DPIII (or woteva) to include, and making your own rockin sound-tracks.
Does anyone know how to make new fonts for it (are they standard fonts?)
and how to make all those cool ball-animated routines??
I have only had a small play with it... so I hope this helps anyone just
starting to play with it... I think you should all report any other exciting
things you find out about it, while we wait for the English version and
English help docs to be released (if they aren't already!!)
